Fallout 3 Announced for PC 9:18 AM | Eddie Park | Comment on this story
The demise of Black Isle Studios left many questions in the minds of Fallout fans as to whether or not their beloved series would ever see another iteration. After much speculation and a few veiled hints, Bethesda Softworks has announced that they will be both developing and publishing a PC version of Fallout 3. "We’re extremely excited about this opportunity and what it means both for Bethesda and for Fallout fans around the world," said Vlatko Andonov, president of Bethesda Softworks. "Fallout is one the great RPG franchises. Millions of Fallout games have been sold worldwide, and fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of a Fallout 3 title." Bethesda also holds exclusive rights to the Fallout series across all platforms, and has the option to develop and publish additional sequels as they see fit. While it's too early to confirm a Mac porting house picking this one up, it does confirm that the series is far from dead, and given the popularity of the series, a future port is highly likely.
