uDevGames Call for Sponsors 9:18 AM | Andy Largent | Comment on this story
iDevGames, the site dedicated to supporting independent Mac game creators, has announced a call for sponsors for their 2004 uDevGames programming contest. After experiencing a number of outages of the past year due to server attacks and hardware failures, the site is back up and working to build their community again. Here is the details for those who might consider pitching in to help out uDevGames this year: Since 2001, an annual contest to encourage independent game developers to create an original Mac game has been held by iDevGames. The contest is called uDevGames, and in 2004, it awarded over $25,000 in prizes, including software, hardware, and books, to the winning developers. These prizes, generously donated by the sponsors of uDevGames, are utilized by the winning developers to further their Mac game development, and help to make the Macintosh an even better gaming platform. The uDevGames Contest benefits not only the winning developers but also the entire developer community through the release of all participants’ source code at the end of the contest. This year’s contest is slated to begin in August, and iDevGames is currently seeking sponsors to donate prizes. Questions, inquiries, or comments should be directed to Carlos Camacho, Editor-in-Chief (editor@idevgames.com) For more information on uDevGames, check out the iDevGames site now.
