Sims Sequel Due this Fall for PC 8:30 AM | Mike Apps | Comment on this story
Sims fans eagerly awaiting news on the sequel may be happy to hear that a release date has been set for the PC version. Set to be released this September, The Sims 2 features a brand new 3D engine and a slew of other new goodies. Here's the news from PC.IGN: Today at E3 we confirmed with Maxis that The Sims 2 has at last received an official release date: September 17, 2004. Yes, that's right: a mere four months until we're hit with the sequel to the most popular PC game ever.If for some reason you've ducked all the Sims 2 details we've had so far, the sequel enhances just about every element that made the original title so successful. The Sims 2 will feature a new 3D graphics engine, detailed animations, entirely new roles and materials, plus the addition of lifespans and progeny to your Sims. Though there is no official news yet on a Mac version of the game, given the success of the first game on the platform, it seems highly likely we will see a port.
