Apple Posts Game Peripherals Guide 6:00 AM | Eddie Park | Comment on this story
Deviating a bit from the usual game previews, Apple has recently posted a guide to various gaming peripherals on its Games mini-site. Covered in the article are devices that go from the standard mouse to flight sticks, joypads, and even the iSight. Besides just covering peripherals, the article also makes note of games that make good use of each type. It also examines more "hardcore" devices, such as foot pedals: Hardcore flight sim fans should explore the solutions available from CH Products. Their Pro Pedals, for example, allow you to simulate realistic rudder motion in flight sims (as well as use them as gas and brake pedals in racing games). Add in their Flight Sim Yoke and you’ll forget you’re sitting in front of your Mac. As always, it's nice to see Apple taking the games aspect of the Mac seriously. A special note goes to the mention of USB Overdrive in the article - a staple that most Mac gamers have undoubtedly tried at one time or another.
