Sims: Makin' Magic PC Goes Gold 10:41 AM | Jean-Luc Dinsdale | Comment on this story
Simulation game developers Maxis and publisher Electronic Arts have announced that their newest The Sims expansion set, The Sims: Makin' Magic, has gone gold. The Makin' Magic expansion set will endow player's virtual families with Harry Potter-like magical qualities, such as the ability to place spells on prospective mates, or transforming neighbours into toads. Any players abusing their new-found witchcraft powers, however, will have to deal with the game's built-in balance and check system. Any players who let their new powers get to their head will have to deal with a variety of serious consequences the game will present. The new expansion set will also feature a new carnival section of town, where Sims can earn rewards for performing magic tricks, or do battle with their new wizardry powers. The new expansion will also include almost two hundred new magical items, and a new cast of good and evil characters. While the PC version of the expansion pack is due before the end of the month, there has been no official word yet as to whether or not Mac publishing powerhouse Aspyr Media plans on bringing the title to our platform. And with Maxis' sequel, The Sims 2, due next February, it's currently unknown whether or not this latest expansion set will be the final addition to the 5-year-old franchise. Stay tuned to IMG for further news on the popular titles. Players wanting to get in on the action should head over to the IMG Store and order a copy of the game and any of its expansion sets.
