HomeLan Fed recently got ahold of Thomas Sitch, producer with Wolfpack Studios, and pumped him for information regarding The Rise of Chaos, an upcoming expansion pack for the MMORPG Shadowbane. Designed to introduce a new world for Shadowbane players, the expansion will include new races, areas, and classes. Of particular interest to many is the new race being introduced, known as the Nephilim: The Nephilim are demons that take mortal guise. As our story unfolds, we reveal that the Nephilim have been hiding among the peoples of Aerynth for some time now, making way for the forces of Chaos to stage a new invasion. As of the advent of the expansion pack, the Nephilim have revealed their true demonic nature. They are, essentially, succubae and incubi, who would be fair and beautiful to behold if it weren’t for their horns and bat-like wings. Sitch also notes that a new area specifically tailored to high-level characters will also be included. Besides introducing new monsters and storylines, the area will also include an air of twisted design inspired by greats such as Geiger and Lovecraft. Also discussed is the development of Shadowbane to date, noting sales numbers, subscription trends, and community feedback.
