Ryan Gordon Seeking Donation From Users 1:10 PM | Galen Wiley | Comment on this story
Ryan Gordon, an independent developer responsible for porting some of today and tomorrow's hottest PC titles to the Mac made a request in his developer's log recently regarding his project on UTPG, a project to keeping both Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X versions of the popular Unreal Tournament (Not 2003) up to date. Gordon asks all users for a small donation of one copy of Codewarrior 7. He states that he will need the newer version of the popular programming application in order to set the Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X versions compatible with one another in online play. Here's the official word: If anyone has a legal copy (i.e. - you own the original discs that came out of a non-Academic version) of Codewarrior 7 they can donate to me, it would help make sure that the OS9 version of UT continues to work online when UTPG breaks network compatibility. One of you has a copy collecting dust in the closet since you've probably upgraded _TWICE_ since that version, and I could really use it, here. Please drop me a line if you can help. I'm seriously not cherishing the idea of backporting the thing to CodeWarrior 6, since that's all I've got here. Ask your IT department if there's a copy in storage they can let go of. Someone's got to have a copy they don't need at this point. If you feel you can donate a copy of Codewarrior 7 to Ryan, you can contact him at icculus@icculus.org. You can check out his developer's log for information.
