MacPlay Ships Aliens vs Predator 2 10:46 AM | Tuncer Deniz | Comment on this story
MacPlay has begun shipping Aliens vs Predator 2, the sequel to the sci-fi based first person shooter. The game features 21 missions and 3 interlocking storylines that allow the player to take on the role of Alien, Predator, or Colonial Marine. Each sports new weapons and abilities, such as pounce attacks for the Aliens, the Predators' net guns, and spider mines that the Marines can use to set traps. Multiplayer mode offers 10 characters to choose from and 12 maps where players can stage deathmatch, team deathmatch, survivor, evac, overrun, and hunt contests. Here's more from the official PR: The intense action in Aliens vs. Predator 2 takes place on planet LV1201, where a group of scientists set up a base and capture several Aliens to study. When the vicious creatures escape, the scientists call for help from the Colonial Marines. Meanwhile, several Predators arrive to stake a claim on the Aliens, who are their favorite prey. The three groups soon become embroiled in an enormous inter-species conflict fought in the gloomy shadows of the darkened base."We advise gamers to turn the lights off at their own risk," said MacPlay Director of Sales and Marketing, Henry Price. "That's how frightening this game is." An advanced game engine powered by the LithTech Development System lies at the heart of Aliens vs. Predator 2. The LithTech engine generates highly detailed environments and characters as well as 32-bit animated light mapping that sets the mood with deep, black shadows and stark, brightly-lit open areas. Aliens vs Predator 2 is available for order from the MacPlay web site and the IMG Store. The IMG Store is offering it for $44.99 for non-subscribers. If you are a MacGames CD or IMG Pro subscriber, you can order it for the amazing price of just $39.
