Macintosh porting power house Westlake Interactive quietly updated their Projects Status Page Thursday with the news that their port of Ritual Entertainment's Star Trek: Elite Force II has reached the Alpha stage. The PC version of the highly-anticipated addition to the Star Trek franchise is expected to be released by publishing granddaddy ActiVision on June 24th. If the Mac port progresses as well as it has been indicated, good chances are that it will be released soon thereafter. According to the Westlake website, the Alpha milestone of a game port is a major step forward from the "First Playable" stage, with sound support, early networking code, parts of the 3D hardware support in place, and even the option to load and save games.
