Possible Max Payne Sequel in 2005? 9:11 AM | Scott Turner | Comment on this story
Max Payne, the gritty film noir third-person shooter that won much critical acclaim for its slow-mo "bullet time" effects, may already have a follow-up underway. In addition to 10 other titles currently under development, Take Two has announced that a sequel to Max Payne will be released in 2005 for the PC. The following is an excerpt from an article on Yahoo about Take Two and its successes. Take-Two's Rockstar unit is working on 10 new games, only two of which have been announced, Lapin says. They are "Manhunt," an action game akin to the movie "The Fugitive," and "The Warriors," a gang drama based on the 1979 movie. "Manhunt" is set for release in October and "The Warriors" and a "Max Payne" sequel are due out in the first half of 2005. The project is being kept closely under wraps and will likely remain so until close to its release. Take Two gives a simple reason why:We don't really announce the Rockstar games until very close to release because we don't want anybody copying us(.) With it being so early in development, there is yet to be any official word on a possibility of a Mac port, but you can be sure we'll stay on the story. Also, for those who have yet to experience the action/crime adventure of Max Payne, it can be ordered from the IMG store for $19.95.
