Aspyr Releases March Newletter 12:41 PM | Tuncer Deniz | Comment on this story
As is customary right around this time of the month, Aspyr has released their latest newsletter with updates on several of their games. Although we've recently covered some of these updates in recent news items, the newsletter does include some important updates including news that SimCity 4 is now in beta. Here's a summary:
SpyHunter is due in April and is being converted to the Mac by TransGaming, which uses a game-porting technology that can allow Windows-based x86 games to be simultaneously released onto multiple platforms including Mac OS X, PlayStation 2, set-top boxes, PDAs and wireless devices. As previously reported on IMG, Harry Potter and the Chamber Secrets is in duplication and expected to ship to stores in the upcoming weeks.BloodRayne is currently at Final Candidate and will ship in April. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003 is also at the Final Candidate stage and should be declared gold soon. There's also news that a demo of the game will be released soon.Medal of Honor: Spearhead, the expansion pack for the wildly popular WW II first-person shooter is in beta. And finally, SimCity 4 has reached the beta stage in development and is on schedule to ship in May. The port is being done by i5works, the same folks who did Ghost Recon for the Mac.Aspyr's Amy Torres wraps up the newsletter with hints that more announcements are on the way. "As for March being the month of announcements....I told you so. Just taking a peek at all of these, April just might see a slew of titles hitting store shelves and mailboxes. Oh, and April also promises a few more announcements. What the.... Yes, we've got more great news!"
