IMG, Others Win Moofie Gaming Awards 1:29 PM | Sean Smith | Comment on this story
Applelinks has announced the winners of their Moofie Awards for the 2001 gaming year: It's been another banner year for Macintosh gaming. This year's Moofie nominees drew from a much wider range of games, and no single title swept the nominations. The A list titles continued to flow, Mac OS X began its domination of Macintosh gaming, and Microsoft didn't buy anybody.Shareware companies, many of whom embraced Mac OS X before the major developers, made a much bigger dent in the Moofies this year. The quality of their programming hasn't gone unnoticed by either the Moofie committee or Macintosh gamers. The nominees in each of the Oscar-inspired Moofie categories were selected by a panel of Mac journalists and voted upon by Mac gamers at the Applelinks web site.Highlights of the Moofies for 2001, the competition's third year, include the awarding of Best Picture to Giants: Citizen Kabuto, Best Documentary to Inside Mac Games, and a Lifetime Achievement Award to Glenda Adams and Westlake Interactive.
