battle.net Realm Expansion 9:16 AM | Ben Boffey | Comment on this story
In a move that only goes to show how popular Blizzard's games are, particularly for multiplayer use, battle.net's US East Realm has been expanded. The new servers have increased the capacity of the Realm by one third; this should really make a difference when creating games in this Realm and may help decrease lag. Thankfully those of us outside the US (and the East-coast) have not been forgotten, as more server expansions are planned in the future including doubling the size of the European Realm. The Asia and USWest Realms are also back up after short periods of downtime for maintenance. Finally, a problem - which I experienced myself - in the European Realm which manifested itself as "Failed to identify Version" errors has been resolved.
Expect the next news item regarding Blizzard to be rather more interesting, as this Sunday they will be holding two, two-hour press-conferences at ECTS in London, UK. IMG will be on the show floor to bring you the news as it happens! What could the announcement be? Why not have your say in our forums.
