Baldur's Gate Multiplayer Test, OS X Info 8:07 AM | Andy Largent | Comment on this story
Our affiliate site Mac Baldur has relayed a request from GraphSim for brave souls who want to be testers for the upcoming multiplayer patch for Baldur's Gate. This will be a free update for the massive RPG that will allow Mac gamers to play through the game cooperatively. Here's a clip with more info: We will be doing a limited beta for the multiplayer update. You must be able to receive a 2MB file over e-mail. Also, this does not support GameRanger (yet) and there are known problems that you might experience. All of this is covered in the Read Me file which will be included in the update beta. If you're seriously interesting in helping out the test, head over to Mac Baldur to find out how to sign up.
In related Baldur's Gate news, Apple has posted a new article on the title. It includes some quotes from GraphSim's Jeff Morgan on the game and its upcoming expansion pack, Tales of the Sword Coast. A clip about OS X support is also included:
When asked about GraphSim’s commitment to Mac OS X, President and CEO Jeff Morgan said, “We are in the process of making all of our new and viable existing products Mac OS X compatible as soon as possible. Our current list of products scheduled for compatibility are Summoner, Baldur’s Gate, Tales of the Sword Coast, F/A-18 Korea Gold and Descent 3. Also, we anticipate that Red Faction will be compatible at shipping.” It's great to hear GraphSim will be porting even (relatively) older games like Descent 3 to OS X. Head on over and check out the rest of the article for more on the Baldur's Gate series coming to the Mac.
