German site Macelodeon has posted a brief but detailed interview with Thomas Steidling of e.p.i.c Interactive, the company behind the Mac port of Earth 2140 and future ports of Earth 2150, Simon the Sorcerer 3D and Gorky 17. The recent release of the demo for Earth 2140 was a great success for the small company, and they have aggressive plans for the future as well. Here is an excerpt:
Macelodeon: How do you choose the games you port?It is no coincidence that all of the titles e.p.i.c. plans to port are of European origin. Read through the rest of the interview for more details on the company's workforce, plans and even Thomas' perspective on the console market.
Steiding: Well, this is always a question of size and possibilities. A small company like ours can hardly go to Westwood, EA or Lucas Arts and ask to port C&C3, Star Wars or FIFA 200x. Of course we are checking the port lists on the Internet. If we find an interesting title, we try to speak to the people involved.
On the other hand: We invite all Mac Users to send requests so we can see what you really want and try to get something going. Maybe we can do something...
