Rome: Total War Update Adds PowerPC Support 6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story
Feral Interactive has announced the release of patch 1.1 for Rome: Total War Gold Edition. The update fixes a few bugs, introduces the 'Jerry Maquire' cheat, and includes support for PPC gamers with G5 powered Macs. In the game players take charge of one of three Roman families with the goal of increasing their power in Rome through diplomacy, economic skill, and war. Good news for those old school imperialists using PowerPC Macs! Patch 1.1 for Rome: Total War Gold Edition is out now, and it adds support for machines with G5 processors. This patch also fixes some rare bugs that players encountered in the initial release, and we’ve added a couple of goodies, including a cheat, intriguingly called “the ‘Jerry Maguire’ code.” Intel players who already have the game simply need to open the Rome application, and the game will prompt to automatically update. PowerPC players will need to download the patch manually from the Rome minisite. So far Rome: Total War has been one of the most popular games we’ve ever released and we are delighted to be able to bring the proud legion of PowerPC players into its generous orbit.
