A helpful IMG reader alerted us to the fact that Spiderweb Software is now offering their next shareware RPG, Avernum 2, for pre-order on their web site. The final version of the game will be available on the 15th of this month.

Avernum 2 is a re-write of the classic Spiderweb title Exile II: Crystal Souls. This deep, storyline-driven title has been reborn with all-new graphics, an expanded storyline and a simplified interface. If you've played a Spiderweb RPG previously, you know what to expect: humor, plot twists and tons of adventure, with a lot of odd characters to meet along the way. While some might be turned off by the "retro"-style graphics and turn-based play, this is a surface judgement -- the true depth is only revealed over time. And of course low system requirements and a small download size (compared to many games) is a bonus.
