Blizzard Entertainment has finally released The Burning Crusade, the much discussed and eagerly awaited first expansion for the ever popular World of Warcraft. A few lucky shoppers able to snag a copy of the Collector's Edition will be treated to a special assortment of extras, which were recently previewed on Blizzard's website.

In addition to the expansion itself The Burning Crusade Collector's Edition offers a five hour behind the scenes DVD, A hardcover Art of World of Warcraft book, an in-game Netherwhelp pet, two starter packs of cards from the official WoW trading card game plus three exclusive tournament legal cards, a map of outland mousepad, and a 21 track WoW soundtrack.

More than five hours of exclusive content is packed into the Burning Crusade Collector's Edition Behind the Scenes DVD. In-depth featurettes cover many different aspects of the game's design and contain commentary from more than thirty members of the World of Warcraft development team; including Chris Metzen, vice president of creative development, and lead designers Jeff Kaplan and Tom Chilton. Learn about the process of designing and integrating the two new races, blood elves and draenei, as well as the entire new continent of Outland, into the existing world and lore of World of Warcraft. These featurettes include exclusive stills of artwork, gameplay videos, and interviews with Burning Crusade developers, all accompanied by the Burning Crusade soundtrack...

You'll be the envy of all non-Collector's Edition-owning players you encounter as you roam the environments of Outland and Azeroth with this exclusive, eye-catching pet, the Netherwhelp. As with the original World of Warcraft Collector's Edition exclusive pets, every character played from the Collector's Edition Burning Crusade account can enjoy the company of a new flying friend. The lovable little scamp is actually a baby Nether Drake, an infant version of one of the new flying mounts available in Outland.
