IMG Reviews Geneforge 4 11:00 AM | Michael Phillips | Comment on this story
Today IMG has posted a review of Spiderweb Software's latest epic RPG, Geneforge 4. Penned by Ian Beck, this review covers the world of Geneforge 4 in great detail. Here's a clip: While every Spiderweb game has minor improvements on its predecessor, Geneforge 4 has some of the most sweeping graphical changes compared to past games. Numerous environmental effects have been introduced to the game, new creatures and objects have been introduced, and many of the old objects received significant facelifts as well. The environmental effects are some of the most obvious and add a lot to the game. Things like smoke from fires, little odd bubbles from magical lights, and effects that affect entire areas (such as rain) are all new with this game. There is a new graphical depiction of light that makes it much clearer where the light source is (although the glowing nimbus that surrounds your character as soon as an area begins to get dark could use a bit of refinement), and the lighting is more subtle.
