Joystiq Reviews X-Plane 8 7:56 AM | Eddie Park | Comment on this story
Joystiq has posted a review by Conrad Quilty-Harper of X-Plane 8. A title constantly in the making by Austin Meyer, X-Plane's strenghts lie in its realistic flight mechanics and wide variety of flying machines. The main scope of the review focuses on the question of X-Plane's accessibility to both newcomers and hardcore flight sim fans. One point of note is its realism: While the game lacks the range of preset situations that its main competitor (MSFS 2004) features, if you can do it in real life, you can do it in X-Plane. Anything from a full shuttle approach from orbit to a mid-air launch of the X-15 Mach 6 experimental plane is possible with X-Plane. The full review can be found at Joystiq.
