Fans of Bone, the graphic novel born from the imagination of Jeff Smith, may be excited to learn that a game starring their favorite Bone cousins will soon be making its way to computers. Telltale Games will be releasing Bone: Out From Boneville, the first in a planned four episode arc that will closely follow the events in the first fourth of the comic series. Several of Telltale's staff worked on such titles as Grim Fandango and Monkey Island so fans of those classics will have some idea of what to expect. Players will move from screen to screen interacting with the denizens of the world and solving puzzles. Voice acting and 3D characters will spice things up and mini games will keep gamers on their toes, although the goal is to avoid an extreme difficulty level. One of the key development principals for Telltale is to not make situations like these mini-games (and the point and click puzzles players come across) too challenging. A big part of the goal with the Bone game is to appeal to a type of player that doesn't usually play games, so instead of presenting challenge after challenge, the company wants to focus on giving the player the opportunity to enjoy and exist in this world. Telltale will offer each episode for $20 and is considering discounts for players who purchase all four episodes at one time. Happily for Mac gamers a release of the title on their favorite platform is a possibility. Telltale is considering in honor of Jeff Smith's preference for Apple computers. 1UP.com's preview, including screenshots and a sample movie, can be found below.
