Close Combat: FTF Goes Gold, Ships April 15 6:29 AM | Tuncer Deniz | Comment on this story
MacSoft let us know late yesterday that Close Combat: First To Fight has gone gold and will be shipping on April 15th, four days earlier than the PC/Xbox versions. MacSoft also let us know that the game's system requirements have actually been lowered on the Mac from 1 GHz G4 to 867 MHz, thanks to some extra optimizations done by the team. Here's what MacSoft's Steve Charbonneau had to say about the system requirements: This is actually LOWER than the Windows system requirements (the Win version requires a 1.3Ghz processor). Our team was able to take advantage of the PowerPC processors to deliver better performance on the Mac. It's important to note that for both the Windows and Mac versions, we encourage a Radeon 9600 or higher graphics card. We believe the graphics card now makes a bigger difference in the playing experience than the processor speed, and we expect this to be the case for the next couple years. More details on Close Combat: First To Fight will be available in the coming days. The IMG Store is currently taking pre-orders for the game at $39.95. To place your pre-order, follow the link below.
