Apple Features Chessmaster 9000 8:16 AM | Tuncer Deniz | Comment on this story
Apple has posted a new feature on Feral's Chessmaster 9000, the game that introduces players to the rules and strategies of chess, while building skills through fun yet comprehensive tutorials. Beginners as well as seasoned chess players can enjoy the many features and stimulating competition that have made Chessmaster the world’s most popular chess program. Here's a clip from the feature: Given that chess enthusiasts speak of such greats as Kasparov the same way diehard baseball fans talk about Babe Ruth, it’s probably not a surprise that Chessmaster also includes a library full of classic games you can review to see how the pros play the game. You’ll find matches spanning the years 1619 to 2002, with an accompanying glossary that helps you understand the difference between, for example, the Queen’s Fianchetto and the Queen’s Pawn openings. Commentaries help newcomers understand why each match was worthy of inclusion in the game. To check out the entire feature, please follow the link below.
