World of Warcraft Player Limit?

World of Warcraft players are most likely familiar with the recent server downtime, in which a good portion of the servers were down at various times. The cause of this is said to be the large number of players that populate certain servers, causing overload problems and subsequent downtimes.
Blizzard is apparently taking steps to address that problem, though the solutions may not appeal to some. In a recent Gamespot article, they note that a queue system has been established on problem servers, meaning that players are put in waiting lines once a server hits its population limit.
An article at Filefront notes that production of additional retail copies of WoW seem to be on hold for the time being as well:
"We haven’t requested that any retailers pull the games they already have off their shelves," Gil Shift, public relations representative, said. "We’re just being careful not to release additional copies to be sold until we feel the game servers can support additional players."Blizzard did recompensate players for the downtime by giving players a free 48 hours of playtime. However, those who keep up with WoW forums know that many players have yet to be placated regarding the server problems.
