Halo Themed Mod for C&C Generals: Zero Hour 10:27 AM | Conrad Quilty-Harper | Comment on this story
A group of enthusiastic programmers and designers have come up with an interesting mix of two games in a new modification for real-time strategy game, Command & Conquer Generals: Zero Hour. This new mod will replace all the vehicles and soldiers in C&C: Zero Hour with Warthogs, Scorpions and Banshees from the 1st person shooter, Halo: Combat Evolved. Currently at an alpha stage of development, the mod already has three types of warthog, the scorpion and the pelican modeled into it. Along with the original vehicles the development team have developed two new UNSC vehicles; A siege tank and a mech for building construction. Here's what the team's lead developer had to say on the conversion of the Halo storyline into an RTS world: The details of the story are still a work in progress, But I would like to make more of a timeline battle rather then a single story. What I mean by that is we're going to take the player over a series of battles with the Covenant instead of exclusively playing on the Halo ring world you will get to play on alot of other planets and fight in other battles so essentially the story follows the UNSC (or the Covenant) rather then the Master Chief. Although at an early stage of development, this mod looks to be very promising.
