Darwine Progress Update 7:44 AM | Jean-Luc Dinsdale | Comment on this story
Earlier this year, IMG brought news to its readers about a new project being hosted at Sourceforge. Once complete, Darwine, the Mac OS port of the open source implementation of the Windows API Wine, has the promise of being a faster and more efficient way of running Windows under Mac OS X than the existing version of Microsoft's Virtual PC. While the project is purring along, the development team could always use the assistance of a few extra experienced and talented programmers. The project's To Do list, charting the status level of all the current tasks facing the Darwine team, has a few tasks listed that need to be assigned to new programmers. Experienced programmers with some free time on their hands, who might be yearning to participate in a worthwhile community project, should head over to the Darwine site and see if the project tickles their fancy. And our non-programming readers, who may be interested in trying the application out once it reaches completion, should stay glued to this website for further news on the project.
