Spicy Horse Announces OZombie Action Adventure Kickstarter
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Spicy Horse Games, known for work on Akaneiro: Demon Hunters as well as American McGee's Grimm and Crazy Fairies, recently announced a Kickstarter campaign to fund its latest project: OZombie. The "narrative-driven action-adventure game" takes place in an alternate version of L. Frank Baum's famous Oz universe, with themes and characters drawn from all 14 of the Oz books.

OZombie is a narrative-driven action-adventure game set within an alternate version of the Oz universe created by L. Frank Baum. The game's themes and characters are inspired by Baum’s deeply imaginative books (all 14 of them!) then filtered through the story and art treatment you've seen applied to our other games like Alice: Madness Returns and Akaneiro: Demon Hunters.

OZombie is built around a single-player game with multiplayer available after completing the single-player mode. Multiplayer provides access to a range of player characters and competitive features like raids and tournaments.

Other features include:

  • A variety of perspectives and game modes with a focus on roleplaying, tactical combat, exploration, and storytelling
  • Powered by Unity3D technology with an initial launch on Linux, Mac, PC, and latest-generation tablets
  • Localized for play worldwide
  • Offline single-player mode supported after a one-time online registration
  • No form of DRM
Spicy Horse is hoping to gather at least $950,000 before the Kickstarter ends on August 5.

Infinite Space 3: Sea Of Stars Video Released
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Digital Eel has released a new video update for Infinite Space 3: Sea of Stars, a sequel to Strange Adventures in Infinite Space and Weird Worlds: Return To Infinite Space. The game will continue the unique sci-fi roguelike style of the originals with the addition of a 3D universe and a variety of new material and gameplay options.

Hi everyone, we have just released a new video update for Infinite Space 3: Sea of Stars! While a bunch of work is going on in the background and not quite ready to show, we couldn’t resist compiling a few choice bits of footage into a video clip. The new interfaces are really starting to make Sea of Stars feel like a game, and we continue to be excited about our artists’ efforts.

As you may remember, we exceeded our funding goal by over $6000. After all the little fees we were still above $30,000. We are putting some of the extra money to use by recruiting another 3D artist, who will help in the production of starships and other models. Jami has been busy working on these as well, so we expect to be able to show off our growing fleet of ships in the next update.

We’ll be releasing further updates roughly on a monthly basis, more regularly once we get closer to release.
