CM: Battle For Normandy - Commonwealth Forces Coming Soon 6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | 5 comments
Battlefront.com has announced Combat Mission Battle for Normandy - Commonwealth Forces. The addition is the first module in the Combat Mission Battle for Normandy series of WW2 ground warfare tactical simulations. Commonwealth Forces requires the original game, Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy in order to play, and is compatible with any version available. The Commonwealth Forces module includes all new, meticulously researched and historically accurate UK, Canadian and Polish units and formations. The full range of Commonwealth weaponry is brought to life with the same amazing level of detail and simulation fidelity found in the previous Combat Mission titles. This module will also bring you new German formations, such as the "Waffen SS" and the Luftwaffe. Several variants of the iconic Churchill tank, the Cromwell, Stuart and Firefly will be included along with many other new units. The Germans will see the mighty King Tiger and the Jagdpanzer in their arsenal among several other additions (see the website for a complete list of new units). All formations can of course be mixed as part of a multi-national joint task force, using any of CM: Battle for Normandy's available units. Included in the package are all new scenarios, quick battle maps, and a campaign for exciting play right out of the box - before digging in and using the powerful editor or sharing scenarios with other CM: Battle for Normandy gamers. The Commonwealth Forces Module is scheduled to be released "whenever it's ready" and will cost $35.

Blink Announced 6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story
Blue Void Studios has announced development on Blink, a new first person puzzle title for Mac and Windows PCs. The game will feature platforming, puzzles, and mystery while challenging players to deal with the ability to "slip between two unique perceptions of the world". Blink is a first-person game crafted with an innovative formula of platforming, puzzles, and mystery. In a surreal world that is both beautiful and lifeless, you find you are somehow able to freely slip between two unique perceptions of the world. Will you come to grips with this strange power, or will you lose your grip on reality?Narrative without dialogue. The game does have a plot. But rather than use dialogue to guide the player, we chose to use visual and auditory cues. There will be no cinematics or "cut scenes" either. Everything is presented to the player through experience. This way, the player can still be deeply immersed without ever having control taken from them. Blink is a Kickstarter project. The team is currently seeking donations from interested gamers to reach a funding target which will allow the game to proceed.

Strange Adventures In Infinite Space Gets Lion Update 6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | 4 comments
Digital Eel has announced the release of a Lion OS version of its free space exploration title, Strange Adventures in Infinite Space. The game allows players to explore the mysteries of a universe in quick 20 minute or less play sessions. In the 22nd century, colony ships were programmed to search for earthlike planets along trajectories calculated to visit stars with the best likelihood of habitable worlds. One such ship with its crew and passengers in cryostasis traveled over 2300 light years before a suitable planet was found.Hope is a temperate world located in the Glory system on the edge of a vast nebula often referred to as the Purple Void. The nebula is unique in that it contains many unusual star types and other peculiar phenomena. Over 100 years have passed since the colonists first arrived. It is a new beginning of deep space exploration. Technology has improved and mankind is no longer dependent on slow cryoships and robot probes. This is the setting of Strange Adventures In Infinite Space. iGame Radio reports that the update is the result of the efforts of Adam Hunter, a fan of the game.
