Inside Mac Games Reviews Cave Story: Doukutsu Monogatari 2:28 PM | Tuncer Deniz | 18 comments
Inside Mac Games has posted a review of Cave Story: Doukutsu Monogatari. Here's a clip from the review: Doukutsu Monogatari, Cave Story in English, is a labor of love by Japanese company StudioPixel and by an artist typically known only as Pixel. The game, completed over a five-year period is, I can say without blinking, possibly the finest side-scrolling experience I’ve ever had, assuredly in the best in I’ve had the last decade. It is an homage to the classic days of gaming yore and is infused with the years of side-scrolling culture and experience that emerged in the days post-NES. To check out the full review, please follow the link below.

Jedi Fun With WiiSaber 7:37 AM | Cord Kruse | 8 comments
The creator of MacSaber has combined the original concept with DarwiinRemote and a Nintendo Wii controller to create the ultimate in Mac related lightsaber mimicry: WiiSaber. MacSaber makes use of the MacBook's internal motion sensor to create lightsaber sounds when the machine was waved around. DarwiinRemote allows some Mac users to to take advantage of the Wii controller and its motion sensitive features. You might recall an application I wrote earlier this year called MacSaber. If so, my new Cocoa application should be quite familiar. Hiroaky just released a handy bit of code that adapts the Nintendo Wii’s “WiiMote” wireless controllers for use on the Mac. I have taken his idea and merged it with the magic that made MacSaber to bring you a new breed of audio Lightsaber simulator. This application looks and works just like MacSaber, but the input device is the WiiMote instead of your Apple laptop. I plan on adding more features including more visual response and multi-controller capabilities soon, so check back again later. Head over to isnoop.net to learn more about WiiSaber.
