PuppyGames, with a newfound focus on non-Windows platforms, has released their latest award-winning game Super Dudester for Mac, Linux and Windows. The simple arcade game features bright graphics and fast action and was written with Java and OpenGL in mind for cross-platform compatibility. Sharp-eyed forum member, Wolfchild, noticed a small update on MacSoft's Halo support page. According to the update, MacSoft are aware that the latest PC patch (version 1.06) breaks Mac to PC compatibility and are working on a new update to bring the versions back into line. From the Halo support page: We are currently working on the Halo 1.06 update and will make it available as soon as it is finished. This is a larger than normal update for the Mac so it is taking longer to complete than usual. Thank you for your continued patience on this matter. Stay tuned to IMG for news about Mac Halo 1.06 when it arrives.

Easily one of the most anticipated Mac games of 2004, World of Warcraft is a a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) of epic proportions. Fans of all things Tom Clancy will be happy to hear that Gameindustry.biz is reporting that Ubisoft has announced the next installment in the hit Rainbow Six series. The press release gives a brief overview of the story, along with some of the features you can expect from the game. On tonight's broadcast of The Gamesome Mac, the Mac gaming radio program, hosts Sean Smith and David Finley, together with iDevGames editor-in-chief Carlos Camacho, host the uDevGames 2004 Awards Show. Now in its fourth year, uDevGames is the annual independent Mac game development contest. Sponsored by iDevGames, the Macintosh game developer community, this year's contest has attracted 31 entries and over $33,000 in prizes. Said Camacho: This year's games are the best ever. The quality is way up. Contestants had three months to develop a Mac game from start to finish. So that other developers can learn from their experiences, all games and source code are made freely available, and tonight's winners will publish post-mortem reports on the development of their games.Not only will Sean, David, and Carlos announce the winners and runners-up from uDevGames 2004, they'll also talk with some of this year's contest developers, take questions live from listeners in The Gamesome Mac's chat room, and give away over $1,400 worth of listener prizes.
