MacPlay to Distribute Enigmo 9:28 AM | Eddie Park | Comment on this story
MacPlay has announced a distribution deal made with developer Pangea Software to sell Enigmo. A puzzle game that features a variety of objects used to redirect various streams of liquid into receptacles, Enigmo has been well-received by the Mac community, and can now be purchased through MacPlay's online store as well as in retail shops. Both MacPlay president Mark Cottam and Pangea founder Brian Greenstone commented on the deal: "I wish I had paid more attention during high school physics class," stated MacPlay president Mark Cottam. "Enigmo really challenges you to dredge up all that information, but there's no question that it's an addictive game which requires the player to think creatively.""I'm thrilled to widen the audience for Enigmo and bring it to more puzzle game aficionados," said Brian Greenstone, founder of Pangea Software, creators of the game. "Whether you're 5 or 85, or somewhere in between, you'll really enjoy this game." For those that are unware, Pangea is also sponsoring a custom game file contest. Players who create Enigmo games with at least eight levels can submit their creations by July 1st, with the winner to receive an iPod. More details can be found at Pangea's site.

Custer's Desktops: ThinkTanks 12:09 PM | Galen Wiley | Comment on this story
Custer's Desktops, IMG's weekly column where users can download high quality wallpapers based on today's popular Mac games, has been updated once again. This week's wallpaper features artwork from Brave Tree Production's ThinkTanks. Here's what the man himself, Brad Custer, had to say: Since the release of the demo I've had a steady flow of requests for a desktop from ThinkTanks. It took a little while to secure the art and to work it into the rotation, but I'm proud to say it's finally here. The guys at BraveTree Productions were all very helpful and even GarageGames pitched in. It was a real group effort. I simply entitled this desktop, "Mind Control", and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it. :) To download and see for yourself, check out this week's Custer's desktops. The wallpaper is available in a wide range of resolutions, from 640X480 to 1920X1200.

Following up on the recent news of SimCity 4 going gold, ExtremeSims, in conjunction with Aspyr, has announced a giveaway contest. The contest, which aims to give away 3 copies of SimCity 4 for the Mac, simply involves registering at the ExtremeSims forum and posting answers to four questions in the contest thread. The questions include the following: * What is the most populous city in the world? * What world city covers the most area? * What is the name of the SimCity 4 expansion pack coming soon? * What is/was your favorite SimCity moment? They add that, due to the debatable nature of most of the questions, anyone who posts will be eligible to win. More details can be found at ExtremeSims.

Trisection 1.0.1 Released 9:28 AM | Eddie Park | Comment on this story
Shareware maker Stick Software, responsible for past popular titles such as Solarian II and Lunatic Fringe, has announced the release of version 1.0.1 of Trisection for OS X. The update addresses a compatibility problem with OS 10.1.5 and earlier and is available for immediate download. Trisection is a puzzle game that takes the stock gameplay of Tetris and expands upon it, providing players with colored triangles in order to work the brain a bit more: Trisection follows in the grand tradition of Tetris, involving fitting falling pieces into an existing matrix. But in Trisection, you're matching up colors, not just completing rows. And unlike the square blocks of Tetris, Trisection uses a triangular grid and pieces, making it a much more interesting puzzle. It's a very different challenge, and with more than a dozen levels, lots of different Aqua-style rendered pieces, great sound effects, not one but two soundtracks, and beautiful background photos, we think it's a winner. Those interested in downloading Trisection, which is sized at around 6.3 MB, can find download links at Stick Software's Trisection page.
