Pangea Software has released an update to the company's just-published 3D puzzle game, Enigmo. The new version mainly includes foreign language fixes and other minor bug fixes.
Enigmo is a 3D puzzle game where the player manipulates various streams of flowing liquid so that the droplets can reach their destination. Liquids (water, oil, and lava) fall from droppers, and will bounce off walls in a visually stunning cascade. By moving various types of bumpers, sliders, accelerators, and sponges, the player diverts the flow of the falling droplets.
The read me includes the following fixes and changes:
Fixed German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Dutch text. Easier to select the Selection Circle. Several minor bug fixes including problems with droplets going thru walls by using the sponge or accelerator. The full game is available for download at our sister site, Macgamefiles.com and weighs it at about 19 MB. IMG Pro users, please use your Hot Downloads server to download the demo.
The Enigmo demo is limited to the first 10 levels of the game and is also limited to 3 hours of total game play, after which the demo will lock itself and not be playable. Users can purchase a license for Enigmo via Pangea's web site for $19.95.

IMG Store: Myth III, Stronghold for $19.95
11:50 AM | IMG News | Comment on this story
The IMG Store is now carrying MacSoft's Myth III: The Wolf Age and Stronghold. Both titles are now available for just $19.95, plus shipping.
Myth III is a prequel to the two previous games, taking place 1000 years before the first Myth. The hero of the story is Connacht the Wolf, a hero so great that they name an entire Age after him. Connacht's allies are none other than the very Fallen Lords from Myth: the Fallen Lords, when they were still champions of the Light. Myth III explores the daunting past before the Great War and the destructive clashes between the races. Players will be able to recreate and take part in battles that they had previously only heard of in the first two games!
In Stronghold you enter into the world of the dark Middle Ages, a world where castles represented the safest sanctuary. Set in medieval Europe, Stronghold brings you a brilliant combination of simulation and real time strategy game styles.

Aargon Deluxe Released for OS X

It seems to be the month for redirection-type puzzle games. Following the recent release of Pangea's liquid puzzler Enigmo, Red Marble Games has released its own light-based title Aargon Deluxe for OS X. Described as a game of pure logic, Aargon challenges players to control the direction of a beam of light in order to tag colored coins:
Your goal is to deflect colored laser beams through lots of optical tools -- mirrors, beam splitters, refractors, color filters, polarizers, the list goes on and on -- so that they hit colored coins and make them spin. Each tool has a different effect, so the fun of the game is in working out how to place the tools you have to get the beam where it needs to go.Red Marble Games also offers three expansion packs featuring more levels and pieces, and those who register for the full version will have access to a level editor.
More information, as well as links to a free demo, can be found at Red Marble Games' site.

Freeverse Reveals Solace
9:45 AM | Andy Largent | Comment on this story
Freeverse Software has issued forth another edition of their MontyMail company newsletter, full of information about their many games, jokes, and even recipies. In this version of MontyMail the company also reveals a new cross-platform strategy title in the works called Solace.
Solace is a turn-based strategy game which looks to be based on the classic gameplay of Risk. A small screenshot is included, and the company notes the game will feature online play as well. Here's an excerpt from the newsletter:
It's a turn-based game of strategy that you can play solo, online in real time, or by e-mail against foes from around the world! For more on Solace and the rest of Freeverse happenings, be sure to check out this issue of MontyMail.
There's no diplomacy in this game. Build up a military and sic it on your enemy, because you know they're trying to do the same to you! This game is going to ship sooner than you think, and we'll have a lot more to show you in the next issue. Oh, and one last detail: This game is for both Windows and Macintosh!
[Update] Freeverse's Jason Whong writes in to say it's not necessary to be considered a Risk clone, "because of
MontyMail Issue 4
the various unit types, and their differing roles in offense and defense." Stay tuned for much more on Solace in the coming weeks.
