Cheaters make StarCraft and WarCraft far less enjoyable experiences than they should be. Ban them, and don't let them back.

does no one learn?
Mike A April 15 - 2:25 PM

I'm surprised to see Blizzard still needs to do this. Do people not learn? Cheating=Baleted.

Cadilon April 15 - 1:14 PM

I am for this and all, but I logged on the other day after about a six month hiatus and found my account deleted.

I guess it could have been because of my inactivity, but I've been wondering if they aren't casting too wide a net.

an aside....
Ash April 15 - 9:22 AM

Just as an aside, my first reaction to this was "who cares about this?" and "why is this considered news?" then I realized that it's almost ONE THIRD OF A MILLION PLAYER ACCOUNTS that got terminated..... HOLY F00KIN CRUD...

they closed 281,000 more accounts than PlayMyth (the game server for all three Myth games) has ever had in the two years they;ve been running... Wowzer.

legaleze or not.......
Ash April 15 - 9:20 AM

Regardless of legal-eze, if they want to shut down your free account on their game service, then can do so for really any reason they like. And there's nothing you can really do about it.

Follow the rules... and nobody gets hurt. Seems pretty straight-forward to me.

Phil April 15 - 8:46 AM

Dude, I hate to break this to you, but prose is not poetic. Prose is regular old mundane writing (or speech). The word "prosaic" comes from the word prose. It means everyday or mundane.

I personally like it when companies release two terms of service agreements. One that is easily readable, but has no legal standing and one in legalese.

While I'm glad Blizzard has started an employment program for former Poet Laureates, I'm not entirely convinced that stating parts of their Terms of Use in elaborate prose is a great idea.
