Hey, Don't forget about our man Mr. G. Devine at id software and people such as awe at fruitz-of-dojo (ported quake, quake 2 to os x) Lotsa great mac programmers around...

Can't wait!

I had no problems with the UT 2003 demo, didn't find any bugs at all.

Gordon is a god

I must thank Ryan Gordon (Freeman?) for is amazing effort to bring great games to the Mac and also port over older games to Apples sexy new OS. I loved Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior 3D. I tried various GL verions of Duke for the PC and loved ever second of it and hope that this project comes through. Keep up the great work. You are quickly taking the your place right up there with Brad Oliver and Glenda Adams for being one of the coolest Mac programmers out there!!!

Westwood? I think you mean WestLAKE. ;)
Jason Sims (IMG) June 02 - 3:34 PM

Westwood makes Command & Conquer, and doesn't write a single line of code for the Mac.

Westlake, the company, was never doing an OS X version of UT. It was a personal project of Glenda's, completely unrelated to Westlake, and she's no longer working on it. Hopes for an OS X version of UT now lie in Ryan Gordon's (very capable) hands. :)

thanks!

You rock, you lovely coding bastard! :) I, understandably I think, have to thank MacSoft, too, for "busting your balls."

good question
steve June 02 - 11:59 AM

so will the final retail run faster than the demo at all? slower?

Demo

That sucks. I'd really like to know how the final version is going to run on my computer before I blow $50 on it. The demo was riddled with bugs and I know that some were drastically affecting speed.

no
garymm June 02 - 11:34 AM

I really doubt it. the demo was sort of a way to beta test it, so now that that's done, they're not going to go through the trouble. the gameplay and graphics are pretty much unchanged, I'm sure.

is Epic working on the original UT for mac now? I thought Westwood was doing it, even after Glenda left. Oh well, I won't care much, once I get UT2003.

Demo

So with all the bug fixes in the final version, does that mean we'll have an updated demo?
