If I was you guys I would go FS2004 or FS2002 it is worth the purchase, those guys at Laminar Research are crooks and they don't help you one bit. I send mail to tech support about 1 year ago and still wating. Also that new version of X-Plane 8.05 save your money trust me, it is not worth the money it has more bugs than New York City. Why do we have to pay to help someone work out a games bugs? It sounds to me it is still in Alpha Beta stage and they charging us to help them find the bugs. Save your money.

I don't see the argument... what harm is there in simulated combat, I don't think the violence would be the draw, but combat is most logical way to showcase competitive engineering. btw. If he is against violence then why the hell would there be a military aircraft section??

Three cheers for Laminar Research. Seems like almost every game these days has to have some level of killing. Glad to see someone just opt out. Those that want to shoot at aircraft have other options.

Whatever the reasons, but the fact is that Austin built XP combat on XP 6 - not XP 5 and therefore I think that Ingue's comment is justified: the screenshot is ancient!

The reason you see an outdated screenshot is because Mike Apps, when filing the news, chose the "X-Plane" category as opposed to the "X-Plane 6" category. When writing a review for X-Plane 6, I created a new category because a review for X-Plane 5 already existed. I suppose Mike has reason for his choice; X-Plane Combat would fall more appropriately under X-Plane than X-Plane 6...
