For the record, UT2003 runs fine on a Pentium III 700 MHz with an nVidea GeForce 3 MX card. A friend and I played with CPU vs video card, and the bottleneck really is the video card. A slow CPU with a fast video card will run it fine. A fast CPU with a slow video card will lag badly anytime there are more than a couple character models in view -- say, when you're being shot at close range.
Based on these PC experiences, I'm sure that a fast G3 or a slow G4 with a decent video card will run it fine.
Of course, the final release alone will tell. |

""Any one have any idea of the spec's needed to run it? I have a friend with an G3 iMac who's wondering if it'll be fast enuf.. probably.... not?""
no wei in hell unless its a 600mhz g3 with a decent card with 256+ megs of ram.
ive played the beta on the peecee a bit and the graphics are pretty heavy. granted it wasnt the finished product but it was still pretty heavy. you MIGHT be able to get away with a g3 500 and a good card but eh, not overly fun you know? like warcraft 3's minimum. barely playable online at all! |

Hasn't Epic's stance on UT2003 always been that a Mac version is 'Likely'? |

I will be Mark's slave if Epic/Westlake does the UT2003 port. And IMG is exactly right, doing this engine will open up so many options. |
